2.  Make the extra effort to get great candid shots as well as the typical posed wedding shots.
It is important to capture candid photos of the wedding party and guests when they are not prepared for a photo as these moments will look more real and natural. These will be great bonus photos and will be sure to be a hit with family and friends since it always nice to have pictures where a person is not aware of being photographed and without fixed expression.

3.  Be especially aware of glass and mirrors.
Wedding and reception areas can be notorious for having a lot of glass and mirrors and can cause reflections that can ruin an other wise perfect shot.  Windows, eyeglasses, or even wine glasses can cause difficulty for even the most seasoned photographer.  Simply changing your point of view will help avoid this problem. Take your photo either from the side, above, or even below the subjects will eliminate reflected glare, and usually will provide a more interesting picture as well.

4.  Make sure to review photos regularly to ensure quality.
One of the biggest advantages of digital photography is the ability to look at your photos right after taking them.  This gives you the opportunity to evaluate your lighting, settings, and backgrounds immediately and to make changes that are necessary before shooting more possibly bad pictures.

By following these tips, you will improve your wedding photography techniques and will be able to offer enjoyable and memorable photos for family and friends to share.
